Updated March 31, 2025

Overview

Overall Rating: ⭐ 4.5 / 5

Recommended Age: 8 and up

Tons of families have experienced the challenging task of keeping kids entertained on a long road trip. As the miles drag on, so does the boredom. When your kids are done with the coloring books, but you’re not quite ready to let them play games on their iPad, this podcast should be next on your list to try!

The Family Road Trip Trivia Podcast was created specifically to cure the family boredom on a road trip with endless trivia questions for just about any topic you can think of. Disney, sports, science, rock and roll, history, Greek mythology, the 90s, and more. The podcast is hosted by Brittany Gibbons, who quizzes one or two guests on the chosen category. Let’s find out more!

Harmful Content ❗️

Rating:

This podcast is meant to be kid-friendly so that the whole family can enjoy it together. Sometimes one of the guests on the episode is a child, so there is very little harmful content. You may want to choose which episodes you listen to depending on your child’s age — they may have a hard time keeping up with ‘90s trivia and some of the pop culture episodes!

Language

There is no adult content or profanity in this podcast.

Sex

There is no sexual content in this podcast. You may hear an occasional reference to a song or movie with sexual themes. In a pop music episode, for example, one question was, “Which musician says, ‘I’m bringing sexy back’”? But nothing explicit is discussed.

Violence

Some episodes, such as the Greek mythology or history episodes, have mentions of war, battles, deaths, etc. But these are all discussed in a neutral, family-friendly manner.

Positive Value 💫

Rating:

This podcast is both informative and engaging for the whole family. Even if your child isn’t a “trivia nerd”, as the host describes herself, they’ll likely still enjoy testing their knowledge on a topic they’re interested in. After each question is asked, the listeners are given a chance to answer before the two guests on the show share their guesses. So this isn’t like listening to a lecture about random trivia facts — it’s more like a guided game show that the whole family can play while on the road!

So, should my kid listen to it?

Yes, this is a great podcast for the family! It is generally appropriate for most ages, some of the episodes just may not be super interesting for every kid.
