How To Set Up Roku Parental Controls
Learn how to set parental controls on Roku.

Roku Parental Control Settings
How to turn on parental controls on Roku
- Visit my.roku.com.
- Sign in to your account.
- Under PIN Preference, select Update.
- Select your Roku Parental Controls PIN preference.
- Select Save Changes and agree to the terms of service.
You can choose from the following parental controls preferences:
- Off.
- Little Kids: Content rated G, TV-Y, and TV-G may be watched without a PIN.
- Young Kids: Content rated PG, TV-Y, TV-G, TV-Y7, and TV-PG may be watched without a PIN.
- Teens: Content rated TV-14, PG-13, PG, TV-Y, and TV-G may be watched without a PIN.
Note: Creating a Roku Parental Controls PIN only affects the ability to restrict playback of select video content within The Roku Channel based on MPAA and TV ratings. This setting does not hide or filter restricted content, nor does it affect playback outside The Roku Channel, including on any other streaming channels. Creating a PIN does not prevent users from exiting The Roku Channel and accessing content on another streaming channel.

How to create or update your PIN
- Visit my.roku.com.
- Sign in to your account.
- Under PIN Preference, select Update.
- Select your PIN preference.
- Always require a PIN to make purchases and to add items from the Channel Store.
- Always require a PIN to make purchases.
- A PIN is not required to make any purchase or add any item from the Channel Store.
- If you choose either of the first two choices and have not created a PIN, you will be prompted to enter a four-digit number in the PIN field and select the Verify PIN field for confirmation.
- If you already have a PIN, enter your PIN in the Verify PIN field.
- Select Save Changes and agree to the terms of service.
Note: Creating a PIN only affects the ability to purchase or add channels from the Roku Channel Store. It does not filter channels or block content from the Roku Channel Store.
Kids & Family Section on Roku
Kids & Family offers both free and premium content tailored for children in a single place. The content in the Kids & Family section is organized by age range, character and theme. The Kids & Family channel also has approximately half of the advertisements of a traditional TV program and all ads are child-appropriate.
